Teresa Giudice’s daughter Gia dumped her uncle Joe Gorga via social media on Sunday, calling him “opportunistic” for posing with her father Joe Giudice after years of bashing him.
The family feud erupted on Sunday night after Gorga, 43, met his estranged brother-in-law while on a weekend getaway to the Bahamas, where Joe, 50, recently resided.
In a clip Gorga posted to his page, he was seen in a hug with Joe, the two men smiling, at what appeared to be an island resort.
“The two walked into the same bar at the same time,” Gorga said. “A lot of history there. We have memories since we were kids. I’m glad he’s okay and looks good. We were both happy to see each other and catch up .
Gorga said the encounter was coincidental and he was “glad someone caught him”.
The sentimental tone of Gorga’s post did not sway Gia, 22, who said the swap was her uncle’s attempt to gain social media attention and use her father to do so.
“It’s honestly comical,” said Gia, who is a senior at Rutgers University, in response to Gorga’s clip. “Knowing that you were with him for not even 5 minutes and that we can have someone take a video of the interaction, all you did was say so badly about my dad.”
Gia told her uncle that he was “such an opportunist to take advantage of the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see my dad and use him for a position.”
Gorga fired back in the comments, “We both said horrible things about each other. It was a nice moment. We have a lot of history.
He concluded by urging Gia, “Take the hate out of your heart.”
Gia wasn’t the only one to question Gorga’s camaraderie with Joe Giudice after years of documented feud on the Real Housewives of New Jersey.
One user said: ‘I’m confused…didn’t Joe Gorga cry on national television that he hated Joe Guidice and blamed him for his mother’s death? Am I the only one who doesn’t understand what’s going on here?
Another said to Gorga: “You just called him a bad seed in the last episode…so confused.”
Gorga replied to the user who was “the purpose” of the meeting, acknowledging: “We said terrible things about each other… but when we saw each other it didn’t matter .”
Another user suggested the unexpected clip was just to create fodder for the Bravo series, saying, “Tell me you need a script without telling me you need a script.”
Gia confirmed to BravoTV.com earlier this year that her dad has been “doing great” for the past few years, Page Six reported.
Joe was deported from the United States in October 2019 to his native Italy after spending 41 months in prison and more time in an ICE facility, following his 2014 fraud conviction.
“He is currently working with a construction company in the Bahamas,” Gia said, adding, “We are very happy for him.”
Gia told the outlet that her father’s long-standing ordeal inspired her to pursue a career in immigration law.
“I’m in my senior year at Rutgers University, and after I graduate, I’m pursuing my dream of going to law school,” she told BravoTV.com earlier this year.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in May 2021, she said her parents’ past legal issues had a major impact on her.
“The whole experience of them has influenced me, honestly, for the better — I just want to help families and be able to be there for families and help kids, honestly, mostly,” she said.
