Today, in updates on the seemingly endless royal feud between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family, we bring you an update on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s RSVP status for the upcoming coronation of the King Charles.
The Short Version: Looks like Harry and Meghan are still set to make an appearance at the festivities (despite recent reports that they’re “fully expected” to attend).
But, as you probably expected, the world’s anonymous royal gossip mongers suggest there’s a lot more to the situation than could ever be summed up in a short version. So that brings us to the long version, which explains why Harry and Meghan aren’t yet convinced they’ve committed to attending the coronation – and what needs to happen for them to say ‘yes’ to the event. .
It should come as no surprise that the Sussexes are apparently the most concerned about protecting their family’s mental and emotional health. As such, their reluctance to attend the coronation appears to be centered on fears that they would put themselves in a toxic environment if they agree to come (apparently things weren’t great™ when Harry and Meghan visited the UK in 2022).

“Harry has been very clear and his position has not wavered,” a royal source said (anonymous, ofc) The mirror Harry’s feelings about attending his father’s coronation festivities. “He won’t come if he feels the atmosphere will be as toxic as it was during the Platinum Jubilee and the Queen’s funeral. He said he wanted to reconcile with his family and that’s their call, but so far nothing has changed.”
According The sun, Harry and Meghan are not expected to play an official role in the coronation (or even join working royals for a photo op on the Buckingham Palace balcony), even if they decide to attend, so they likely some time to figure out their final RSVP status.
Even though the Sussexes TO DO decide to attend the coronation, however, sources suggest they could be kept away from Prince William and Kate Middleton altogether throughout the visit, thanks to the tension caused by some of the less flattering truth bombs Harry dropped on the prince and the Princess of Wales in her memoirs, Spare. So basically awkward if they go there, awkward if they jump.
